Sophie is a freelance director living and working in London.

She read Drama and German at the University of Bristol. Living in Berlin during the third year of her course, Sophie assisted on six theatre projects and wrote and directed a short film, LOST IN BERLIN. She gained a postgraduate in theatre directing from Drama Studio London in 2007.

RETREAT, her first professional play, won a FringeReview Award for Outstanding Theatre Show at the Edinburgh Festival 2007. STOCKWELL, which she directed in 2009 was twice Time Out Critics' Choice and nominated for an Evening Standard Award.

Sophie trained on the directors' course at the National Theatre Studio and was its Resident Director for 6 months from 2011 - 2012.
